Why I want to be your Nepean Ward Councillor

Local councils have a more significant impact on our daily lives than State or Federal governments.  My goal is for that to be a positive impact for Nepean Ward ratepayers and residents by:

  • actually listening to the local community's priorities and delivering on them,

  • improving the standard of core services such as roads, rubbish and general maintenance, including maintenance of our precious coastal infrastructure,

  • dealing with pedestrian safety hotspots and parking issues,

  • finding efficiencies that don’t impact on services,

  • deliver tangible outcomes for the existing master plans before creating more new plans,

  • reviewing plans to reduce Point Nepean Road to one lane each way through Rye,

  • preserving the character of the area,

  • creating more leash free areas for our dogs and making improvements to existing areas,

  • reviewing the Watercraft Removal Program ban on boats other than tenders,

  • not imposing a 3.3 per cent levy on new developments,

  • not adding to cost of living challenges for our community,

The list is by no means complete. Being a keen observer of local council matters for the past few years I am aware that there are many more issues to be dealt with. Please feel free to contact me with the issues that matter most to you for Nepean Ward and the broader Mornington Peninsula Shire.

If elected, I will be as accessible as possible and have regular opportunities for face to face listening posts to allow everyone to have their say on local issues, raise concerns and share ideas.

I am in a position to be able to dedicate as much time as required to the role of Nepean Ward Councillor - this will be my sole focus.
